Inner Realms I - No. 2 "Come Find Me" Original Painting

For this painting, I really love the color purple and I remember dancing the brush around just to that color over the page and enjoying that. After I let that dry, I experimented with allowing the other color lines to bleed into each other. One of my favorite things about watercolor paint is creating moments where colors bleed into each other, for some reason it just brings dopamine to my brain. So there’s a lot of moments where this flamingo pink and these green lines are running into each other and I had a really good time doing that. Then I enjoy doing my white sprinkles on top that’s kind of like snow.

After it dried, I realized  that it looked like a section of my song "Come Find Me" specifically in the intro where you just hear the synthesizer pads at the beginning. The timbre and the quality of the synthesizer pads is very much this electric purple color, but specifically when when it hits the third chord in the sequence, which is Db9#11 , that moment to me looks pretty similar to this painting.

The colors bleeding into each other, but creating this kind of push and pull between each other remind me of the tritones that are in the chord and F is definitely that color green and it would definitely show up that electric because it was on a synthesizer, And also the white dots being when you hear the jingling of the bells/ percussion.

I have synesthesia which means that I can see colors when I hear music.
